PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
Performs, evaluates and reports all testing activities, both internal and external, for existing Galvion products as well as testing to support Galvion’s Research Development and Engineering projects. This position will ensure prioritization of the workload is correct, that testing timelines are met; results are well documented and reported in appropriate format and timely fashion.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface with Operations, Research & Development and Engineering functions regularly to make certain testing requirements and priorities are understood.
- Evaluate results of product tests and inspections for product and/or customer compliancy.
- Also, further evaluate passing product for aberrations or trends that may lead to failure in the future and initiate preventive actions as needed.
- Ensure all testing equipment is appropriately maintained and calibrated.
- Ensure all necessary testing supplies and tools are stocked appropriately.
- Develop strong knowledge of all standards and specifications which relate to our products.
- Ensure all safety requirements for testing equipment are followed at all times.
- Determine incoming inspection sample criteria.
- Perform inspection on incoming materials per inspection instructions.
- Record results of incoming inspections in SyteLine and Inspection folders.
- Perform in-process inspection on semi-finished products, document results as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all inspection & test results and insure proper paperwork is filed.
- Evaluate results of product tests and inspections for compliancy.
- Create, update, and review TST documents per drawing requirements.
- Understand the use of calibrated equipment and calibration dates. Calibrate in house tooling and prepare shipment for external calibration equipment.
- Perform Document Control duties, including updating, issuing and reviewing all facility-level documents, including Work Instructions.
- Pull and prepare LAT customer samples for 3rd party testing.
- Perform scrap operations in ballistics.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all test results and ensure proper paperwork is filed.
- Release components tested per processes and procedures from incoming inspection.
- Perform system transactions per work instructions and training.
- Provide recommendations for improving quality of process and components.
- Complete Non-Conforming Reports as required.
- Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality, safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing and/or laboratory environment is preferred.
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent applicable work experience is a plus.
- Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, specifically) and evaluated via proficiency test.
- Position requires a person who is meticulous and quality conscious; motivated and creative problem solver.
- Experience with analytical test equipment is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Fast learner with excellent time management skills.
- Possess creative problem solving skill with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Understanding of ISO process, certification and compliance required.
- Willingness to learn new jobs, testing methods and techniques.
- Must be adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities and testing schedules.
- Ability to utilize standard measuring devices for quality inspections required and evaluated via proficiency test.
