Communication – Student workers will clearly and accurately convey lab instructions and content to the students in the course.
Critical Thinking – Student workers will assess the needs of the lab students and assist them in ways that best meet the needs of each student.
MCB/AFF/EBE Lab assistants are responsible for: setting up
(includes preparing reagents and setting out tools and equipment) and tearing
down/cleaning labs each week along with the other lab assistants; grading lab reports
each week; proctoring and pre-grading exams for the instructor; grading
quizzes at the instructor’s discretion; hosting occasional open lab sessions before; and attending a mandatory prep meeting each week.

Required Qualifications
|Undergraduate student (sophomore through senior) currently enrolled as a Biology
major or related major/program at Gannon University. Must clearly and fully understand
the material to be covered in each lab session; be available and professional to students
when they ask questions during laboratory periods and open labs. Must maintain
accurate attendance and grade records (using Blackboard). Must complete online time
entry biweekly the day before the due date.
