Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
- Critical Thinking – Over the duration of the semester, the student will progressively develop enhanced critical thinking skills. The student will work closely with the faculty member to identify and develop these necessary skills.
- Career & Self Development – Over the duration of the semester, the student will develop, implement, and perform tasks of increasing complexity under the guidance of the faculty member. This will include, but is not limited to, undertaking new areas of research, planning and conducting lab experiments, and effectively interacting with fellow students
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated student to work in the thermal-fluid sciences area during AY2024-25. The student will be assigned one or more projects and will leverage his/her knowledge in the thermal fluid sciences in order to advance the project’s goals. The student will have the opportunity to prepare documentation and give oral presentations that specifically highlights new knowledge gained over the course of the position.

- Take guidance from faculty mentor; attend meetings; work independently to achieve goals; other duties as assigned by faculty mentor within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the position.
- Follow laboratory safety protocol; maintain safe laboratory working conditions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Required Qualifications
This position requires sophomore/junior/senior ME or closely related major or graduate engineering student.
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering students are preferred.
Physical Demands
This position requires minimal physical demands, but applicants should be able to safely lift 25 pounds and sit and/or stand for extend periods of time and be able to work in a busy environment.
