Job Description
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate work of mechanics on crew
- Ensure quality and timeliness of work is completed within budgeted parameters
- Assign and status MACPAC work orders/coordinate operational schedule
- Support and administer labor contract and ensure safety regulations
- Communicate with other supervisors to help achieve and maintain smooth work flow and high degree of productivity
- Use electronic time accounting system to maintain employees' time and overtime daily
Required/Preferred Education/Training
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Graduate BIW Apprentice
Required/Preferred Experience
Required:
- Trades experience in an industrial or construction environment
- Understanding of shipbuilding processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- Two years’ experience in Tinsmith classification
- Supervisor experience
- MACPAC system understanding
- Previous supervisory experience in a production environment
