What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Specialist position at GenScript?
Position Overview:
We are looking for capable warehouse specialist to support warehouse Inventory functions and special projects.
Individuals in this role should be extremely detail oriented and good problem-solving skills. It is also expected that warehouse specialist have adequate physical strength to successfully unload shipments.
Location: Fully onsite- Work Location: 860 Centennial Ave, Piscataway. NJ
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be selecting, packing, and shipping orders
- Receive and put away inventory
- Get customer orders ready and pack them up
- Load boxes onto wheeled shelves and carts
- Use scanners to read bar codes on products
- View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks
- Troubleshoot problems
- Ensure product meets quality requirements
- Operate motorized walkie trucks such as a pallet jack, and work at heights up to 20 feet
- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
- Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
- Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, or walking around
- Depending on the role and location, you’ll learn: how to operate liquid nitrogen tank, 4~8 Celsius refrigerator, -20 Celsius refrigerator and -80 Celsius refrigerator
Qualifications:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and protective safety footwear are required in select business units
- High school diploma
