Position Summary:
Our Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all facilities (Hollister and Morgan Hill, CA) and all equipment maintenance operations to ensure maximum equipment availability and performance. This includes direct supervision of Maintenance Supervisors, Mechanics, Installers, and Repairers. The role is accountable for implementing and enforcing preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies that enhance asset reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.

· Ensure cleanliness in facility, freezer, and production areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations & Reliability
- Will oversee maintenance operations at both processing facilities located in Morgan Hill and Hollister, CA
- Oversee all maintenance activities with a focus on equipment reliability, uptime, and sustainability.
- Develop, implement, and manage a robust Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using reliability-centered best practices.
- Utilize failure data, root cause analysis (RCA), and reliability engineering tools to drive continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
- Analyze key equipment performance metrics (e.g. MTBF, MTTR, OEE) to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and improve asset performance.
- Lead and support emergency and corrective maintenance activities, including response during off-shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations.
- Coordinate and monitor work performed by contractors and third-party service providers to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and coach Maintenance Supervisors, and Technicians to ensure proper execution of maintenance activities and documentation.
- Review employee performance, establish goals, and provide continuous feedback and development.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety within the maintenance team.
Project & Capital Equipment Support
- Participate in capital project planning, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning efforts.
- Evaluate parts, materials, and equipment with vendors for reliability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Budget & Inventory Control
- Create, manage, and track maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Control and monitor parts inventory and procurement to minimize downtime and optimize spare parts availability.
Safety, Compliance & Food Manufacturing Standards
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety rules, environmental regulations, and company protocols.
- Enforce compliance with state/federal laws, SOPs, GMPs, IIPP, and Hazard Communication standards.
- Drive food safety practices in coordination with operations and quality departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Develop strong partnerships with Operations, Production, Human Resources, Quality, and Sanitation teams to optimize efficiency, labor, and asset utilization.
- Support company-wide continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- This role supports 24/7 operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Must be available to work the night shift and extended hours, including weekends and on-call rotations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering required. Equivalent technical experience combined with demonstrated leadership in maintenance management may also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Maintenance Management experience in food manufacturing or similar high-speed production environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop maintenance teams in a 24/7 operational setting.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experienced in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing reliability improvements.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&ID diagrams; proficiency with AutoCAD or Inventor is a plus.
- Systems Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); experience with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing for long periods, lifting, and working in varying temperatures.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts, weekends, extended hours, and respond to emergency calls as required.
