Position Summary:
Gerald Group is seeking an accounting professional to assist in the preparation of books and records in the Accounting Department and assist in the financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will be a CPA and have strong people/management skills, experience with IFRS and commodity experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees day to day corporate accounting operations and activities, including cash, A/R, A/P, fixed assets, prepayments, and other activity.
- Assist with the completion of annual audits.
- Manage a staff of junior accountants.
- Contribute to the month end close process, including review and substantiation of journal entries, inter-company transactions, account analyses and reconciliations.
- Prepare analysis of balance sheet and SG&A movements across comparable periods by business unit.
- Run balance sheet FX revaluation (manual as well as automated) for the global Group.
- Prepare, organize, and improve support required for tax compliance to the Tax department.
- Reconcile, record, and provide analysis of foreign subsidiary companies.
- Assist with the design, preparation and analysis of management reports and presentations.
- Special projects or other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong proficiency in Excel.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, experience within the industry or at a Big 4 firm strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- Dynamic personality who is willing to grow at the same pace as the organization.
- CPA preferred.
- Ability to work in office 5 days a week.
