Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. The position supports the college’s strategic plan goal to rectify achievement gaps among student populations by providing academic and personal support that promotes success and a sense of belonging. The Single Stop platform was implemented as a part of Counseling’s Germanna Cares Program, dedicated to the reduction and elimination life basic needs barriers which often derail students from persisting and completing educational goals. Counseling, and all its programs, support the VCCS strategic goal to “provide all students with a culture of care that responds to the needs of our diverse student population and supports and inspires their educational and career success.”
