Process Engineer

Your tasks

• The Process Engineer is responsible for the development of process functions from the introduction of the materials to the injection molding machine (all appropriate settings, procedures, testing, etc.), to the release of the product from P&A to the warehouse.
• Assists in the development of an engineering designed injection/extrusion process from the introduction of the raw materials to the machine through the completion of quality approved final product.
• Assists in the investigation and analysis of new materials, equipment invoices, and engineering practices.
• Prepares or assists in preparing engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and minor designs.
• Assists in analyzing quotations and bids and in developing recommendations.
• Analyzes costs for work projects.
• Performs and/or assists with equipment and material test studies.
• Handles minor engineering projects occasionally.
• Implements solutions to continuous improvement opportunities from shop floor input.
• Maintains functional control and report progress of capital projects.
• Evaluates cost effectiveness of future projects and report findings.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Your profile

• Excellent communication skills with all levels within the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft software package.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Project Management skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Project and/or Smartsheet.
• High-energy individual who is goal-oriented and results-driven.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proven self-starter: takes the initiative to identify and drive change.
• Ability to plan time, manage deadlines, and multi-task.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use measurement equipment to include calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Knowledge of processing materials through various types (makes) of extrusion and injection molding machines
• Understanding of Tool Design & methods for mass production capabilities.
• Strong technical report writing skills
• Strong and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Five (5 ) years' of directly related experience in a plastic manufacturing facility, utilizing injection molding machines and/or extrusion machines.
• Plastics experience with Polypropylene, vinyl, and PVDF and others and ability to process materials through various types (makes) of injection molding machines.
• Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
• Exposure to machine noise.
• Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production area.
• Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
• Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
• This role may require walking in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Up to 30% travel may be for domestic.
