Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-time Activities Assistant to support our Activities Department (Hours to include shifts every other weekend). The Activities Assistant supports the Department Director by conducting many of the planned activities and performing related duties required by the Activities Department. Works in accordance with established policies, procedures, and/ or specific instructions from the Activities Coordinator. Supports the philosophy and mission of the department in giving their best to the residents to improve their quality of life through physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the attainment of Ginger Cove Mission Statement takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
- Lead or assist with planned activities as listed on the monthly calendar.
- Address activity changes and coordinate alternate activity option.
- Assist the Activities Manager with planning new activities.
- Chart residents in AOD (electronic medical record) system as trained, and record daily participation in activities.
- Utilize the phone system to call for GNA/Nursing assistance.
- Accompany residents to and from activities in all areas.
- Conduct one-on-one visits with residents in designated meeting spaces.
- Maintain constant awareness regarding dietary restrictions for applicable residents.
- Notify the Director of any concerns from residents, residents' family members, or staff.
- Maintain awareness of new technology introduced by the Activity Manager.
- Assure all activity areas are neat, clean, and orderly.
- Assist in the sorting, filing and distribution of mail.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Education or training in recreational therapy or a related field preferred.
- Experience in senior communities or related health care field preferred.
- Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and be tactful in dealing with others.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time frame.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Full Covid-19 vaccination required.

Salary : $27,100 - $34,400
