Community Outreach Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and motivated School Community Outreach Assistant to join our team and help us build strong relationships with local schools and youth communities.

 Position Overview:

The School Community Outreach Assistant will play a key role in promoting the brand’s involvement with schools and youth programs. The ideal candidate is someone who is not only passionate about streetwear but also cares about making a positive impact on local communities through educational initiatives, events, and partnerships.

 Key Responsibilities:

 Community Engagement:

  - Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with local schools, youth organizations, and educational institutions.

  - Coordinate brand-sponsored events, workshops, and mentorship programs aimed at engaging students in fashion, art, design, and entrepreneurship.

  - Act as the brand’s representative at school and community events, promoting Shaka Wear's vision and values.

  

Program Support:

  - Help organize outreach programs that focus on creativity, street culture, and fashion, targeting high school and college students.

  - Assist in the creation of educational materials that introduce students to the streetwear industry, its culture, and career opportunities within fashion.

  Event Coordination:

  - Work with the marketing and event teams to plan and execute brand activations at school events, such as career days, fashion shows, and creative workshops.

  - Coordinate donations of streetwear merchandise to underprivileged schools or student-run initiatives.

  

Social Media and Promotion:

  - Assist in managing social media campaigns that highlight the brand’s involvement in community outreach and educational initiatives.

  - Create content, including photos and videos, showcasing school outreach events and success stories for social platforms.

  

Relationship Building:

  - Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and youth leaders to ensure successful execution of all brand-sponsored activities.

  - Act as a liaison between the brand and schools, addressing any needs or concerns that arise from collaborations.

 Qualifications:

- Passion for Streetwear and Youth Culture: Knowledge of streetwear culture, fashion trends, and youth engagement strategies is essential.

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, school staff, and community leaders.

- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

- Event Coordination Experience: Previous experience in event planning, community outreach, or working with schools is a plus.

- Creative Thinking: Ability to come up with innovative ideas to engage students and build community relationships.

- Team Player: Must work well within a team and collaborate with multiple departments, including marketing, design, and events.

 Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred).

- 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, youth engagement, or event planning.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms.

- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for school visits and events.
