What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Coordinator position at Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois?
To deliver Girl Scout programs to girls during school hours and/or after school at participating schools.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Recruit, place, and register all girls, parents, and adult volunteers with GSUSA who participate in GSofSI’s Extension Programs.
- Plan and conduct weekly troop meetings in the schools and virtually utilizing volunteers and resource persons (when available).
- Participate in training, planning and evaluation meetings as required.
- Maintain program, financial, and attendance records.
- Plan and execute annual recognition program.
- Plan and execute programs outside troop meetings, including but not limited to field trips and outdoor educational experiences.
- Maintain communication with girl and adult members, parents, school personnel, and community resource persons.
- Identify and organize community resources suitable for Girl Scout activities.
- Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Good leadership skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well with children and adults.
- Ability to set and meet goals with self-initiative.
- Ability to work with diverse population groups.
- Dependable, efficient, enthusiastic, and punctual.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Ability to represent Girl Scouting in the community.
- Ability to demonstrate the Girl Scout program.
- Willingness to perform tasks that involve the ability to exert light physical effort may include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (20-25 pounds).
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
- Understanding and acceptance of the Girl Scout promise, law, beliefs, and principles. Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
