Development Associate

Bethesda-based arts organization seeks a full-time Development Associate. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our fundraising team to help maintain and grow our base of supporters.
The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture is a nonprofit organization that operates the arts programs and facilities at Glen Echo Park, a National Park property featuring multiple historic arts facilities on a 9 acre site located in Montgomery County, Maryland. Montgomery County is a major partner in the operation and management of the site. The Park is a community of artists, educators, dancers, and performers who share their knowledge and expertise with participants and audiences of all ages and skill levels. Reports to: Director of Development, and works closely with the Executive Director and Board Fundraising

Location: Glen Echo Park - Arcade Building, 7300 MacArthur Blvd. Glen Echo, MD
Key responsibilities:
Donor Management:
- Maintain and update donor information in our CRM database (Keela)
- Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters in a timely manner
- Produce donor reports and mailing lists as needed o Reconcile donations with the bookkeeper on a monthly basis
- Research and track information about our major donors
Members/Donors:
- Oversee smaller donors/members program, including promotion, solicitation, acknowledgement and renewal
- Network, solicit and follow up with current and prospective donors/members
Events:
- Working with volunteer/board committee, act as key point person for planning and implementing the annual spring gala, including assisting with soliciting corporate and individual sponsors, securing silent auction items, tracking ticket sales and assisting with event logistics
- Organize donor cultivation and stewardship events for members and donors
- Solicit in-kind donations for donor receptions and fundraising events
- Provide staff support at annual Park events, as requested
Administrative/Board:
- Attend and compile and distribute notes for board fundraising committee meetings
- Support logistics and attend evening in person board of directors meetings (4-5 per year)
- Design-related tasks for fundraising reports, invitations, and presentations
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 2 plus years experience in development, membership and/or event management
- Ability to work independently; excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proven experience working with a donor database or CRM software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; design software such as InDesign or Canva
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Physical and Other Requirements: Must be able to provide own transportation, including during hours when public transportation is not operating; lift and move up to 40 pounds and walk throughout the Park for event setup; and speak and understand fluent English to engage members and donors.
FLSA Exempt: The position is a full-time permanent position. FLSA exempt.
Hours: Regular work hours are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday. Some additional evening and weekend hours are required for events and activities as well as meetings with volunteers. (Flex time is offered for extra hours worked.)
Remote Work: Option to work remotely one day per week (unless events/activities require in person attendance).
Salary: Salary range commensurate with experience and competitive with similar positions in the region.
$55,000 to $65,000 estimated annual salary range.
