Summary
Serves guests and collects payment for meals and beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assures proper and timely set up of dining room.
- Maintains adequate levels of rolled silverware, table linens, glassware, etc.
- Maintains clean, well stocked and organized work areas/stations.
- Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Writes order on check or memorizes it.
- Serves food & beverages as ordered by customers quickly and efficiently.
- Operates P.O.S. system to send food and beverage orders to the bar or the kitchen.
- Handles all cash and credit card transactions with cashier; follows cash handling guidelines as appropriate.
- Communicates clearly with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Organizes duties and work area to maximize timely service delivery to guests.
- Provides specific direction to support staff (busser, food runners, seaters) in a courteous manner as needed.
- Observes guests needs and responds to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Responsible for collecting payment for service of product.
- Assists F & B Manager as needed.
Qualifications
Excellent customer service and communication skills required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, and co-workers. Must be able to give and follow specific direction, including providing minimal supervision to support staff.
