Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sustainability Coordinator to lead our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies that enhance our organization's commitment to sustainability, reduce our environmental footprint, and create long-term value for Goodwill Keystone. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, a deep understanding of sustainability practices, and a track record of driving impactful programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and Manage GKA's Environmental Sustainability Plan
- Assist in implementing the company's sustainability strategy aligned with corporate goals and industry standards.
- Collaborate with teams from operations, retail and Senior Leadership to ensure sustainability initiatives are part of planning.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and fleet operations.
- Develop a plan to review and audit energy use and expenses at all facilities
- Work with VP of Operations to develop an accurate measurement of Goodwill Keystone's current carbon footprint organization wide.
- Design, execute plans, and audit to reduce carbon footprint by reducing energy consumption.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive projects related to renewable energy, supply chain sustainability, and community engagement.
- Fleet Management
- Monitor and evaluate Goodwill Keystone vehicle fleet and evaluate needs, type and replacement schedules.
- Keep informed on advancements in heavy fleet EV and determine when they may be an operational fit for Goodwill Keystone.
- Maintains all transportation fleet equipment and performs routine inspections. Evaluates fleet assets and recommends repair and/or replacement as necessary. Ensures DOT compliance is maintained at all times through routine preventive maintenance.
- Schedules all inspections and ensures supplies are obtained for the proper maintenance of Organization's fleet. Reports all maintenance/repair needs and equipment problems and concerns to the Transportation Supervisor. Completes all purchase orders for fleet repairs within established timelines.
- Manages and maintains all licenses and permits for Organization's fleet. Develops and utilizes strategies to ensure fleet compliance with all federal, state, and local government laws and regulations.
- Reviews and establishes fleet maintenance practices and procedures. Tracks condition, age, and performance of each unit. Maintains accurate records of equipment specifications, maintenance history, and cost data.
- Manage Salvage Market Sales
- Continuously work with buyers to achieve the highest price per pound while ensure to limit possibility of inappropriate disposal.
- Look for new and emerging solutions for different waste streams such as plastic, glass and textile.
- Track, Report and Improve Diversion Rates from Landfill
- Maintain monthly diversion reports
- Evaluate and analyze the data to find ways to improve accuracy and reliability.
- Improve diversion rate to 85% or higher in three years.
- Back Up to Transportation Supervisor
- Be back up for the Transportation Supervisor during PTO and rotating Saturdays.
- Monitor drivers to be sure the day's tasks are being completed.
- Send store schedules and loading sequence to warehouse.
- Develop an understanding of basic DOT compliance.
- Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Ensures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the (supervisor/manager title).

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or Associate's Degree in relevant field with two (2) years' experience in the relevant field; or HSD/GED and four (4) years' relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
- Four years' experience in relevant field/work setting.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Comfort with emerging AI technology for use with reporting.
- Good communication and written skills.
- Comfort presenting data and results to leadership.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
