Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I ensures the safety, appearance, and operation of Agency facilities/grounds, in accordance with ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications. The Maintenance Technician I is expected to:
- Assist other Maintenance Technicians in the performance of scheduled and emergency maintenance as required.
- Perform minor tasks such as painting, patching drywall, clearing clogged drains with minimal supervision.
- Provide lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal services.
- Follow directions while relying on experience to perform repairs or maintenance.
- Conduct daily safety checks on assigned Agency vehicles and adhere to all Agency vehicle policies.
- Supports construction projects for Agency facilities and complete projects to ADA, Health & Safety, and OSHA specifications.
- Some overtime will be expected
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to handle strenuous activity including heavy lifting.
- General knowledge of computer-related tasks for job documentation as required.
- Ability to communicate professionally and politely.
- May work flexible hours and is available on-call to respond to emergency repairs as instructed by Property Management leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to organize time and materials to meet assigned deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize tools and supplies needed to complete responsibilities.
- Successful completion of a background check that meets Agency standards.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and insurance that meets Agency standards.
- One (1) year of experience in the construction industry or equivalent experience and or knowledge.
