As a Peer Mentor you will provide day-to-day support to each client. Assist and coordinate collections of the data associated with retention ensuring that Caseworthy as well as all Case Assignment Spreadsheets are up to date at all times.
Job Responsibilities

Ensures smooth transition for program participants in subsidized employment to permanent employment

Perform retention and troubleshoot the retention process as needed

Develops and foster relationships between employers and program participants
-
Helping to identify options for promoting goals and solving specific problems
-
Being a good listener and sharing positive reactions and constructive criticism
-
Ensures participant stays on track with program goals and expectations
-
Provides one on one guidance in person, telephone and weekly meetings
-
Mediates conflict between program participant and onsite supervisor
-
Serves as a resource guide and role model for program participants
-
Maintains confidentiality between program participants
-
Assist with participant Outreach and In-reach

Performs other duties as assigned

Report to the Program Director all progress and participant or staff related issues

Submit data and activity reports when needed

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
-
Preferred 2 years working with the criminal justice population
-
Must possess vehicle, insurance, California Driver’s License and excellent driving record

Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office required

Working conditions

The job is performed indoors in a climatically controlled setting in cooperation with co-workers. There is regular contact with the public, business and community agencies. The position requires minimal supervision.

Moderate: Occasional short deadlines. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high activity, with great emphasis on teamwork.
Physical requirements

Due to the variety of assignments in this position a person must have the ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach forward and overhead. Standing, sitting, carrying, pushing and pulling will also be involved.

Must be able to lift up to 65lbs throughout the workday.

Moderate emotional level effort is required, occasional high stress with short deadlines.

Work environment – generally inside 100% - however may include outside work on occasion.

Pay Range
$23 - $24 hourly
