- Leads and develops production team members with clear expectations, coaching, and accountability
- Owns and optimizes the production process for safe, consistent, and efficient operation
- Instills a data-driven, continuous improvement culture throughout the department
- Leverages systems and KPIs to drive behavioral and process improvements
- Oversees operator training, qualification processes, and SOP adherence
- Drives a proactive, root cause-oriented approach to problem solving (RCFA expertise required)
- Supports efficient and well-resourced plant shutdowns and ensures qualified contractors are in place
- Leads change initiatives through the Management of Change (MOC) process
- Ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
- Manages the production budget and communicates deviations to the Plant Manager
- Regularly reports departmental performance and drives results accountability
- Participates in hiring, performance reviews, and employee development processes
- BSE degree, required; Chemical Engineering degree strongly preferred
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in a continuous process, 24/7 industrial manufacturing setting
- Prior ethanol industry experience is a plus
- Demonstrated expertise with processing equipment such as evaporators, heat exchangers, centrifuges, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, pumps, valves, electrical circuits, and instrumentation
- Proven leadership in operations management, budget oversight, and reliability-focused practices
- Strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work in an industrial environment, including stairs, ladders, confined spaces, and around chemicals
- Ability to respond to and support emergency issues on a 24/7 basis and work outside of normally scheduled hours as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
