This position is located Avon, (Eagle-Vail) Colorado.

The Controller is critical to our success and will work with a dedicated and professional team that supports our multiple stores and online luxury retail business with locations in Colorado and Utah Ski resorts.

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our Gorsuch family of retail professionals. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who has a natural skill to engage and motivate people and wants to make a difference by managing and coordinating our company's activities related to the different Accounting and Financial functions. This position will provide the opportunity for growth and development as we continue to expand our business.

The Controller for Gorsuch will work closely with all members of the accounting and operations team throughout the Company. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Key duties include being highly involved with audit and sales/use tax management and staying compliant within GAAP accounting practices.

Job Duties

• Manage day-to-day operations of several staff accountants.
• AP
• Bank, credit card reconciliations.
• Asset management
• Sales/use tax management
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and related journal entries, ensuring all transactions and accounts are in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the annual audit, including coordination of timing, work, and requests from third party auditor.
• Analyze variances to budget to develop corrective action.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication and processes are in place for smooth operation of day-to- day business.
• Set up new vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA a plus.
• 4 years progressive accounting experience required.
• 2 years audit experience preferred.
• GAAP accounting experience required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with GP Dynamics software preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in Retail Sector preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary Range: $135,000- $165,000. The salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
