A molecular postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yasmin Hurd at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City within the Departments of Psychiatry and Neuroscience and Pharmacological Sciences. NIH-funded research is directed towards molecular neurobiological studies of drug addiction and related psychiatric disorders. Data from genetic screening of individuals with substance use disorders are also integrated with gene expression and epigenetic datasets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing projects using molecular and biochemical assays such as RNA-sequencing, ChIP-sequencing, quantitative PCR and western blotting on postmortem brain specimens from human drug abusers and animal models.
