Grand Design is currently sourcing for a Supplier Quality Manager. As a Supplier Quality Manager you will be responsible developing and maintaining the technical skills of the supplier quality leads and internal processes to improve the supply base capability and overall supply quality. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop and implement actions to support the company's business objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work in a safe manner and follow all company safety policies.
  • Lead and develop the Supplier Quality / Performance function.
  • Inspect, communicate, and improve supplier quality.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Managers, Product Managers, Plant Managers, Operations Quality, and Service to review suppliers and components performance.
  • Design and develop incoming inspections sampling plans.
  • Work with external suppliers on all levels to drive supplier quality improvements.
  • Perform on-site supplier assessments, supplier training, and audits to evaluate supplier quality systems.
  • Collaborate with the supplier strategic sourcing team to evaluate potential new supplier systems and capabilities.
  • Assist in investigating non-conformances of purchased parts and communicate issues with pertinent parties to develop solutions and drive conformance with the suppliers.
  • Drive a "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Provide personal development, training, guidance, and leadership within the Quality team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, operations management, or a related field preferred and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing supplier quality role.
  • Experience with supplier quality systems and tools.
  • Continuous Improvement methodology training and experiences.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skill leveraging Green and/or Black training.
  • Change management/Facilitation experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Proficient in understanding and reading engineering prints.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional groups at multiple levels.
  • Action oriented, self-starter who can be hands on as situations deem appropriate.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and help others work through change.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain.

Physical Demands

  • May need to lift, push, pull between 30-60 lbs.?
  • Ability to stand, stoop, climb stairs, and climb on ladders.
  • Will be out in the Production floor 60-70% of the time.
  • Ability to travel to supplier locations and attend industry events as needed.
  • Able to work early and flexible hours.
