Job Title: Accountant
Location: Main Branch
Status: Full-Time
Reports to: David Borsos, VP - Finance
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and finance duties as directed by
Credit Union policies and procedures. Administers the Credit Union's accounts payable process. Assists
with general ledger accounting including recording journal entries, performing reconciliations, reviewing
variances, and preparing financial reports. Provides general accounting and finance support to Management
and other departments as needed. Supports and promotes the Credit Union's Vision, Mission and Core
Values.
Essential Duties, Skills & Abilities
- Exhibit outstanding member services skills by applying Granite Credit Union Service Standards and Core Values.
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reconciliations of General Ledger and Internal Accounts.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of ACH Direct Deposit, Pre-arranged Payment files, Federal Recurring files, and Corporate Tax Payments.
- Responsible for processing ACH Originations, including member originated ACH transfers.
- Reconcile and review the Credit Union's daily cash letters. Promptly researches and resolves discrepancies.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Serve as a source of knowledge for department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members, and outside vendors.

Required Experience & Skills
Familiarity with Accounting principles and ACH Regulations preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Exhibits strong accuracy and organizational skills.
Education
College degree in Accounting or Finance or experience equivalent preferred.
