IT Support Specialist
Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.
Position Summary:
The IT Support Specialist supports the mission of our school by being the primary contact for all tech requests. The Specialist fills a crucial role by providing help for users and troubleshooting technology problems in a timely manner. Work is performed under limited supervision. The Specialist will report to the Director of Information Technology.
Status: Full-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt/12-month
Responsibilities:
- Provides quality service and support for mission critical systems and all end users.
- Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, upgrades and troubleshoots end-user hardware and software in order to deliver required IT support.
- Installs, supports and maintains network devices to ensure roaming and remote user connectivity.
- Provides first-level support for troubleshooting and resolving system failures.
- Troubleshoots and resolves all assigned tech support requests and escalates non-resolved issues to the Director of Information Technology.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of all technology equipment campus-wide.
- A perpetual learner who continually learns new computer applications and develops a high level of operational proficiency.
- Provides training, support and documentation to end users on new and existing equipment and software applications.
- Performs analysis and diagnosis of complex IT problems and recommends and implements corrective solutions including coordinating on-site repairs as needed.
- Installs, maintains and supports IT Equipment.
- Maintains and updates skills as required to remain proficient with respect to advances in computing technologies.
- Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
- Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
- Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
- Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.
- On call for emergency response for system issues.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and to make decisions in accordance with the President and Board’s expectations, established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail and a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and implement work in a disciplined manner to keep multiple projects progressing to completion simultaneously with minimal direction.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high pressure environment.
- Strong hands-on technical knowledge of PC operating systems, Windows 10 & 11, MacOS, iOS and ChromeOS.
- Strong working knowledge of Internet uses and typical user connectivity problems.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Familiarity with WiFi Systems.
- Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems and ability to document problems/solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Office 365, Azure (Entra ID) and Hosted Exchange.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Google Classroom.
- Understands advanced computing and network architecting concepts.
- CompTIA A , CompTIA Network , and CompTIA Security Certifications are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relational skills.
