Job Summary:
The Radiology Technician performs diagnostic radiographic procedures using ionizing radiation to support accurate medical diagnosis. Works under the supervision of physicians and licensed practitioners, ensuring patient safety and image quality throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs radiographic exams; critiques images to maintain quality control
- Medical Assistant duties may be required as trained; assessment of patient vitals when
indicated during exams - Clerical functions as required
- Maintains the necessary precautions for excessive exposure to radiation and safety
conditions. - Reports equipment malfunctions as appropriate.
- May assist in orienting new employees or students regarding functions of the department.
- May require floating into other GGC facility locations to provide coverage when needed.
- Other duties as assigned/necessary.
Qualifications:
- At least one-two years of work-related experience highly preferred
- Previous medical laboratory and/or Medical Assisting experience very helpful
- Demonstrate interpersonal/ communication skills required with high focus on quality patient care
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must be licensed Radiologic Technologist in the State of Kentucky
- Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
