The Apis Hotel & Restaurant
The Apis Hotel & Restaurant is a multi-level concept featuring a full-service restaurant, multiple event spaces, a stunning rooftop bar, and 6 premium guestrooms. The Apis Barback
The Apis Barbacks assist the service team in providing guests with an exemplary experience. Their primary duty is to support our team of Bartenders, however, their work leads to improved service across all levels of the restaurant. They are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful at all times while upholding company standards & values in a busy, fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
- Support the bar team with ongoing bar & table maintenance, including, but not limited to: water service, pre-bussing, resetting of plates and tableware throughout the guest experience, clearing & cleaning of the bar and tables, the washing and sanitation of all bar tools, equipment, and glassware, and the resetting of bar tables with proper tableware
- Have the ability to recite basic menu knowledge for all categories of food & drink
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menu items including major components, allergens, unfamiliar ingredients, & appropriate utensils for service
- Understand and execute food safety and allergies protocols
- Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
- Respond appropriately to any guest requests or issues by communicating effectively with the proper bartender, server or manager
- Receive instruction from multiple sources and prioritize tasks effectively
- Assemble alcoholic beverages for guests, as directed
- Support team with beverage service to all dining room areas
- Stocking and preparing bar service related items
- Maintain the cleanliness of bar tools and bar areas
- Support other team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
- Assist other team members by communicating 86s, menu changes, and other beverage related information
- Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
- Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by management
- Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history
- Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels
- Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
Skills & Requirements
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Bartender License as issued by the City of Kenosha
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess an exceptional work ethic, a strong sense of hospitality, and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to work in an organized and professional manner
- Receptive to constructive criticism & performance feedback
- Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
- Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
Physical Demands
- The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
