POSITION: Operations Specialist FLSA STATUS: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Specialist is responsible for understanding and training Great Harvest Culture, Operations Systems, Food Quality and Service Standards, both at Great Harvest University in Dillion, MT, at New Store Openings, and at existing store sale transitions. This job will evolve into other roles in the operations department as assigned.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Training new franchise owners and managers at Great Harvest University in Dillon
· Oversee training of new staff in new stores
· Oversee training or retraining of staff in transfer stores
· Updates training programs and materials as assigned
· Exemplifies the culture and philosophies of Great Harvest Bakery and Café
· Works effectively as a team member with other members and owner(s) in new store openings or transfers
Training at Great Harvest University
· Prepare class work curriculum and training materials for new trainees
· Conduct orientation and culture day activities
· Train the Great Harvest operations systems, processes, recipes, etc. to new trainees
· Teach business, marketing and accounting courses to new trainees
New Store Openings
· Conduct on-site facility walk-through
· Oversee/coach hiring if needed
· Oversee training of new crew according to Great Harvest processes, procedures and systems
· Conduct Standards Review
· Assist in new store marketing initiatives
· Make sure store has access to all training materials and other needed resources
· Conduct financial review with franchise owners(s)
· Prepare notes with action plans for franchise owners
Transfers
· Oversee and implement recommended upgrades
· Prepare a budget to replace any worn equipment
· Prepare operations assessment of store
· Train/retrain staff to bring up to current standards of operations
- Bachelor's degree OR
- Experience training diverse groups of people and
- 2 years restaurant or food service management experience
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Must possess excellent time management skills including effective use of calendars, task prioritization, effective delegating, hitting deadlines, and being able to flex when needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
· Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
· Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
· Requires the ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
· Travel approx. 12 weeks per year required.
· Prompt and dependable attendance.
TRAINING STANDARDS
It is the expectation of Great Harvest Franchising that all trainers adhere to the standards set out for teaching and training baking and restaurant techniques. These standards are set through instructional videos and materials as represented on the corporate training site and other corporate training materials.
