Assembly Lead - 1st Shift – Salina, KS
Great Plains is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as a 1st Shift Assembly Lead at the Salina Facility. This unique opportunity allows you to plan, coordinate and lead in producing a quality product as efficiently as possible.
The schedule is Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (overtime on Fridays as required).
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Great Plains is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as a 1st Shift Assembly Lead at the Salina Facility. This unique opportunity allows you to plan, coordinate and lead in producing a quality product as efficiently as possible.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Practice and teach good Safety, with the ability to document incidents
- Responsible for day to day operation, including completing daily production
- Required to work overtime to complete tasks, sometimes with minimal notice
- Accurately complete required paperwork
- Ability to teach, coach and review employees, to meet department goals
- Maintains time and production records
- Ability to use 5-Gen Lean Mfg., implement improvements, and document outcomes
- Inspect work in progress and finished products
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
- One to three years’ related experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and work within a team environment
- Working knowledge of AS400 and good computer skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
