Position: Accounting Specialist (Part Time)
Supervisor: CEO
Location: GLAD
Classification: Non-exempt, 50% PTE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the CEO, the Accounting Specialist will:
- Make deposits and post in QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile credit card statements and invoices after receiving receipts
- Reconcile PayPal account and make reports
- Prepare manual checks
- Prepare some monthly invoices
- Prepare cost allocation for all expenses
- Prepare monthly breakdown/invoices for Worker’s Compensation and Pension Plan
- Review vendors details to obtain W-9 if needed
- Handles account payable by typing checks and make online payments daily
- Performs such tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- B.A. in Accounting required and 2 years related experience and/or training in Accounting
- Fluency in American Sign Language is required
- Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret financial statements and reports
- Excellent interpretation, analysis and evaluation techniques of financial information
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining cooperative relationship with co-employees, directors, and the CEO
- Must be a team player
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality, Demonstrated ability to perform professionally. Punctuality and reliability are a must
- Must know how to use QuickBooks Online and Excel

The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 1969 and now has 13 locations serving 10 counties in Southern California.
Our goal is to protect the civil rights, and ensure equal access for the deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and deaf disabled communities in particular areas of California, including the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono, Inyo and San Luis Obispo, to all of life’s opportunities.
GLAD’s general purpose and powers shall be to promote the educational, health, housing, vocational, cultural, social and recreational welfare of its deaf and hard of hearing constituents.
The organization’s specific and primary purposes shall be to act as a coordinating agency addressing the broad social service needs of deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and deaf disabled individuals through direct service provision, advocacy, research and dissemination of information to the consumers, professionals and parents.
Part time employees (employees regularly scheduled to work 19 hours per week or more) earn sick leave and vacation leave on a prorated basis based on regularly scheduled hours.
Salary Range: $35.00 - $37.50 per hour ($36,400 - $39,000 per year)
