Flexible work schedule available.   Discounted YMCA programs after meeting the eligibility requirements.  Eligible for a 12% company contribution to the YMCA Retirement Fund after meeting the requirements.  Employee referral bonus program.  Opportunities for continuing education and professional training and development.   Fun and collaborative environment.     What Qualifications You’ll Need:  Minimum of 16 years of age Strong swimming background  Lifeguard Certification or willingness to attain.    What You’ll Do:  Under direct supervision of the Aquatic Leader, the Lifeguard is expected to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable aquatic environment for YMCA members and participants. Ensure safety of all individuals in the pool area by being on deck, watching all activity in and around the pool, walking around the pool area, constantly remaining alert while on duty, enforcing all pool rules, recognize emergencies and rescue individuals in stress.  Maintain current certifications and physical fitness.   Perform endurance swims and rescue procedures at required monthly in-service meetings.    Visit https://www.philaymca.org/about/careers for more information.
