Summary
The Human Resources Assistant provides informational assistance and support to applicants, employees, and the Human Resources staff. They will serve visitors and employees by greeting, welcoming, and directing them; notifying staff of visitors’ arrival; providing information, and maintaining databases. They will work collaboratively to demonstrate best HR practices with the evolving organizational needs and team-oriented structure. This position will be a brand ambassador for the company’s unique company culture.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Performs data entry functions
- Maintains personnel files by uploading data to HRIS (ADP)
- Manages and assists with inquiries from employees and applicants
- Answers incoming phone calls and gives routine information to callers or routes calls to the appropriate parties
- Maintains a welcoming environment by keeping reception area clean and secure
- Provides support and assistance with the online employment application process
- Maintains and distributes current employee information, policy and procedure manuals and other communication when necessary
- Assists with employment verification requests
- Assists with distribution of employee paychecks
- Assists with the planning and execution of company events
- Supports the employee recognition programs
- Maintains inventory and tracks use of Greenbrier logo employee gift items
- Assists with employee training activities

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency test/GED
- Ability to work both alone and in a team environment
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Proficient in applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to receive and interpret information and communicate it accordingly
- 1 years experience in administration or human resources
- Experience using ADP
