Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Follow all Greenleaf Hospitality Group policies and procedures
- Prioritize and organize work assignments and be able to delegate
- Direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed
- Motivate staff
- Ascertain staff to form cohesive team
- Ability to clearly think, analyze and resolve problems, while exercising good judgment
- Accuracy to details
- Endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties
- Exert physical effort in transporting and placement of tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, podiums and other banquet / meeting room equipment
- Ensure security of storage and access to hotel property
- Work without direct supervision
- Knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, times, locations and amount of people
- Knowledge of location of all hotel function space and names of rooms
- Knowledge of all styles of meeting and banquet room settings
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and proper chemical handling
- Knowledge of all styles of room set ups, standard equipment and proper handling of such
- Communicate effectively with guests, management and coworkers to their understanding
- Speak, read, and write English precisely and clearly
- Strong presence on the floor
- Resolve any guest issues that may occur, leaving the guest with a positive experience
- Ensure that all associated are being productive and providing personalized guest experience
- Create brand loyalty through the guest service experience and product value
- Responsible for a smooth, positive flow of the business with regards to both internal and external guests
- Build an engaged culture through recognition of individual talents and contributions
- Train and job coach front staff
- Continuous improvement of employee engagement to ensure retention
- Hold associated accountable to standards, communicate to manager if situations arise that may require counseling and participate in counseling
- Confidence and willing to take charge of any situation, including opening and closing, scheduling, and answering questions
- Communicate to staff the vision and daily goal of restaurant and Greenleaf Hospitality Group
- Hold effective team huddle. Go over any special instructions and/or changes needed for the shift
- Staff schedule and labor expense control
- Connect with teammates personally to build positive and trusting relationships
- Maintain a clean restaurant
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner
- Be available to all associates to answer questions, guide, and support them
Qualifications
What You Need for this Position
- Ability to lead a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more
- Able to stoop and bend
- Occasionally able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment
- Able to comply with safety and health code standards
- Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
