Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL are searching for a paid Broadcast/Public Relations Intern forthe 2023-24 season. This position requires a candidate to be motivated to create professionalrelationships with media and broadcast partners, to assist & participate in on-air opportunities,and help build the K-Wings brand through social media creativity and execution. The rightcandidate will interact with players, coaches, staff, and media members during the season-long(September thru April / end of season) position. Strong writing skills and working knowledge of Adobe Suite are preferred.
Broadcast experience is also preferred but isn’t required. This position directly reports to the Director of Broadcastingand Public Relations.
● The Broadcast & Public Relations Assistant will assist Public Relations andBroadcasting Director with various production and administrative duties throughoutthe 2022-2023 ECHL season● Be motivated to work odd hours & work efficiently inside prescribed hour requirements● Assist with the creation, distribution and management of website content (graphics,articles, promotional schedule and press releases)● Hone and improve the skills needed to work in professional public relations and sportsproduction: writing, producing, editing, broadcasting, interviewing and technical skills● Create and distribute gameday content and other required information to teams,coaches, and officials● Maintain statistical information via established systems and processes
Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION:● Strong motivation to take the next step in professional sports career● Must be available from September – end of the season (including playoffs)● Interest in broadcasting / writing / public relations● Base knowledge of professional hockey● Motivated attitude and professional appearance● Background in Adobe Creative & strong social media skills● Strong interpersonal skills● Maintain a high level of motivation; self-starter
