MORE ABOUT GREENWOODS
Greenwoods is a nonprofit organization that helps people find quality mental health care. Greenwoods currently has 3 areas of focus:
Mental Health Assessments & Referrals: Greenwoods offers mental health assessments, at no charge for qualifying clients, to anyone who lives or works in Litchfield County. Following the assessment, the client is matched with a clinician either in our network of 130 private practice providers or one of our in-house clinicians, whoever best meets the needs of the client. Many clients in Litchfield County are uninsured or underinsured. Greenwoods can help these clients afford their mental health treatment through our financial aid program.
Youth Mental Health Program: Greenwoods partners with a number of local schools to provide school-based mental health services for students and staff. Our school partnerships are unique to the needs of each school. At some, we have clinicians located in the schools, which allows access to treatment for students and staff who would otherwise go without care. For others, we bring our model of assessment and referrals to families through consultation with the school.
Community Outreach & Recovery Navigation: Many individuals throughout Litchfield County struggle with mental health and addiction problems in isolation. In our rural communities, many people do not know where to turn for help or how to access treatment. Our Community Outreach & Recovery Navigators travel the county informing people of the work we do and helping individuals access the most appropriate treatment for their unique situations. Through this program, individuals and families gain access to high quality mental health and addiction treatment.
