Minimum Education:
Satisfactory completion of an approved school and able to meet the requirements for registry forregistry/certification by the American Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Must keep up with ARDMS continuing education credits.
Must have ARDMS within one year of hire.
Required Licenses:
[Idaho, United States] Radiologic Technologist and Technician
ARRT/ARDMS registration/certification required.

Essential Functions
- Determines test procedures according to purpose of examination.
- Selects transducer, and makes equipment adjustments according to nature of test, depth of field, and other specifications of test.
- Conducts actual test procedure: moves transducer by hand over specified area of body and observes sound wave display to monitor quality of ultrasound image produced.
- Records diagnostic data to be digitally archived into PACS.
- Produces a permanent record of test results.
- Checks all equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper orientation.
