Division: Maxwell Retail

Reports To: Maxwell Retail Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grow West is looking for a Set-Up/ Service Representative to join our Maxwell Retail team. The Set-Up/Service Representative is responsible for delivering application, and related equipment to customer field, sets up equipment for specific application, calibrates accordingly, monitors calibration until job is complete and returns equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs maintenance on all shop equipment such as oiling and lubricating, troubleshooting malfunctions and completing minor/major repairs.*
  • Maintains and updates an accurate maintenance/repair log on all machines for reference purposes.*
  • Maintains equipment through the use of welding, fabrication and construction.*
  • Ability to fabricate trailers from the basic design to the execution.*
  • Uses hand tools and related repair equipment to perform minor and major repairs.*
  • Ability to weld using either a wire feed welder or stick welder and able to weld on both steel and stainless steel.*
  • Ability to cut steel using a band saw, plasma cutter, or oxygen acetylene torch.*
  • Ability to repair small engines ranging from 2.5 to 20 hp.*
  • Knowledge of hydraulic motors and the ability to repair and install.*
  • Perform maintenance on brakes for vehicles and trailers.*
  • Perform electrical maintenance on vehicle and trailer lights.*
  • Maintains a safe, neat, and orderly work area at all times.*
  • Orders and procures parts/and or outside repairs for services beyond the shop's qualifications.*
  • Monitor and stock parts for equipment, as needed.*
  • Budget and monitor expenses for each piece of equipment and keep accurate records.*
  • Monitor equipment in yard and field to keep an accurate inventory.*
  • Performs general safety and regulatory compliance functions.*
  • Works evenings or weekends as required during peak seasons or during a declared emergency situation.
  • Performs minor duties to support general building upkeep.*
  • Requisitions cost effective supplies and items for equipment maintenance/repair as needed.*
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner in accordance with safety policy manual.*
  • Reports any equipment/vehicle problems or concerns to supervisor immediately.*
  • Calibrates equipment by recommendation, work order, direct verbal orders or previous records.*
  • Delivers application equipment as directed by Salesperson, customer or Supervisor.*
  • Reports and repairs emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately.*
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.*
  • Mixes chemicals to customer specifications.*
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
*Essential Function

Education/Experience:

One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

·       Valid California Class A driver's license with hazardous materials endorsement

·       Acceptable motor vehicle report

·       Current status on DOT medical certification

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

·       Must have knowledge of the mechanical operations of all diesel, gas, and electric motors and how to repair and/or service motors and all components

·       Knowledge needed to repair and/or service all other company equipment

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration.
