We are seeking a talented and results-driven Accounting Clerk to join our growing Accounting team. The main objective of the Accounting Clerk is to assist our Accounting Associate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing and Payroll responsibilities.
General Accounts Receivable Functions
- Prepare customer invoices and receipt payments
- Monitor customer accounts for nonpayment and delayed payment
General Accounts Payable Functions
- Prepare, organize and ensure invoices are ready for processing
- Ensure payments information are accurate and ready for signature
- Assist with sorting, coding and entering accounts payable data
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Sort, organize, maintain and manage vendor files
General Payroll and Purchasing Functions
- Collect, monitor and verify employee timecards and overtime
- Verify taxes and other deductions
- Communicate with vendors
- Place, track and submit supply orders and purchase orders
- Assist in month end reporting procedures
- Assist with generating reports for management
- Liaise with other departments/customers/vendors
- Review documents for accuracy and appropriate approvals
- Basic level reconciliations
- Basic journal entries
- Sort, organize, maintain and manage payroll and purchasing files
- Ad-hoc duties as requested
Requirements
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written English
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Coursework in Finance or Accounting is not required but highly preferred
- 6 months minimum experience in clerical accounting, administration or similar is an advantage
- MS Excel and QuickBooks experience are not a requirement but highly preferred
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures is an advantage

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
