Paid Family Caregiver Program (You Must be Currently Caring for a Elderly or Disabled Family Member)
State of Michigan has a program where you can get paid to care for your elderly or disabled FAMILY MEMBER called HOME HELP.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Personal care: Bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Food: Shopping, preparing, and feeding
- Housework: Light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping
- Mobility: Helping with transfers and mobility within the home
- Medications: Managing medications and dispensing them
- Companionship: Providing companionship and encouraging social engagement
Qualifications:
- Family member MUST have Medicaid.
- Caregiver MUST be 18 years old.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of the physical and emotional demands of caregiving.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
