What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Inspection Associate III (Construction Services) position at Gwinnett County?
This Contract Inspections Associate III position will be responsible for the management, inspection, and construction oversight for a variety of construction and rehabilitation projects. The construction projects may consist of both linear and vertical assets, and the scope may include development, CIP, DOT, water production and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer collection systems, stormwater storage and conveyance systems, and pump stations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to review design documents prepared by others and recognize and resolve various design and construction related issues. This position will interface with operations and maintenance workers, consultants, contractors, and various governmental departments or divisions.
Essential Duties
- Arrange inspections and determine the appropriate corrective action based upon the inspection results
- Prepare daily inspection reports
- Review construction reports and cost estimates
- Respond to technical questions from contractors and inspect the contractor’s work for contract compliance
- Review projects to ensure they meet Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources’ quality requirements
The grade for this position is C41(2). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate in engineering, business management, project management, or a related field an
- Four years of construction experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
- Flagging Certification (Must be obtained within one year).
- Work Zone Traffic Safety Certification (Must be obtained within one year).
