Job Description
The Program Leader will be serving as a key liaison at the new Dacula Recreation Center for community members and citizen inquiries, addressing questions and concerns related to recreational programs and special events. This role involves developing curriculum, coordinating with contract instructors, maintaining structured schedules for facility rentals, and running programs in collaboration with the staff and vendors, while aligning activities with departmental goals and community needs.

Essential Duties
  • Coordinating and supervising all operations, including staff scheduling and training, marketing, and public engagement
  • Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, activities, and special events for diverse age groups and socioeconomic communities
  • Maintaining professional communication with staff, management, and community partners
  • Maintaining safe operating environments and facilities
  • Completing and processing paperwork, including permit requests
  • Preparing and maintaining various records and reports, and cash handling
  • Completing data entry for camps, programs, and classes
  • Overseeing Youth Athletic Associations and field rentals at satellite locations
Public Speaking Duties
  • Advertising and communicating upcoming programs and events in multi-media platforms including outreach events
  • Addressing groups and individuals in a public setting to express the department missions and goals
  • Acting as the Master of Ceremonies for events and programs
Grade
The grade for this position is B22(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
 
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, Education or Hospitality AND
  • One year of recreation support experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Driver's license
  • CPR and First-Aid certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Two years of recreation support experience 
  • CPR certification
  • First-aid certification
