As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating and modifying electrical mechanical systems and equipment involved in the manufacture and packaging of pharmaceutical products.
Maintain and modify electrical and mechanical systems within the production environment.
Perform complex troubleshooting of automated packaging systems and equipment such as fillers, cappers, cartoners, bundlers and robotic palletizers as well as manufacturing systems and equipment, such as scales, balances, tablet testers, mixers, tablet presses, tablet coating systems, liquid pumping and volume control systems.
Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of process measuring devices involved in ensuring weight, temperature, humidity, speed, volume, count, length, pH, and other factors.
Provide technical assistance for investigations when equipment or system failure occurs.
Maintain functional operation of various critical automated material handling systems throughout the production process including conveyors, automated warehouse, pneumatic lifts and product transfer systems.
Coordinate projects and repairs with engineering and other in-house support groups. Oversee technical repairs performed by outside contractors on process equipment. Contact equipment manufacturers and vendors for information.
Document maintenance work following the ALCOA principles. Record repairs and maintenance performed. Record parts and materials used, and order new parts and materials as necessary.
Maintain PC applications for control systems (i.e.: POMS, RSView, RSBatch, SAP), PLC programming for material handling systems, production equipment and packaging equipment.
Complete root cause analysis on equipment failures to determine root cause and proper countermeasures.
Perform any additional task as required by immediate supervisor following the GSK expectations and values.
EHS Responsibilities:
Know, understand and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) guidelines
Report unsafe conditions
Report all injuries, illnesses and hazardous materials releases
Wear personal protective equipment
Attend HSE training programs
Follow all safe work procedures
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology OR Electronic Engineering Technology OR an electrical license OR 3 years' experience as an electromechanical technician with a High School diploma or GED.
1 years' experience in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering Technology industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical system installation, operational techniques and safety compliance, instrumentation and controls, and building automation systems. Advanced knowledge highly preferred.
Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions in order to perform installation, repair and modification work.
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and internet)
Demonstrated knowledge of safety compliance.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) including validation issues and change control processes.
