What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint & Hardware Sales Associate position at Hamshaw Lumber Inc?
We are a locally-owned and operated business providing quality materials with personalized service. This position is responsible for supporting the sales efforts at Hamshaw Lumber, servicing wholesale and retail customers. You will assist customers in person and over the phone by determining the customers needs and presenting appropriate products and services. This involves ensuring that sales transactions are completed accurately, maintaining accurate work order files and formulas, pulling appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse, and tinting and mixing them to customer specifications. This position will also stock shelves and set up displays, clean store equipment, and load and unload trucks.
Essential Duties:
Creating estimates and orders from outside sales personnel and customers
Sourcing special product needed to fulfill job requirements
Taking customer and vendor phone calls and responding quickly and efficiently
Accurate invoicing of materials and scheduling of deliveries
Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
Some store maintenance responsibilities as assigned by the Store Management.
Fork Truck certification
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
High school diploma or comparable certification (e.g. GED).
Valid driver's license
Fork Truck certification a plus, but not required
The ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events
