JOB SUMMARY:
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant. Under direct supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of functions related to the operation and administration of the Finance Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the integrity of the Bank’s general ledger system.
- Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations on a daily and/or monthly basis and preparation of adjusting entries as needed.
- Reconcile various daily reconciliations such as FRB, AP Expense DDA, Cashier Check DDA, etc.
- Decision-positive pay exception items.
- Responsible for the preparation of prepaids and accruals.
- Responsible for Payroll funding and reconciliations.
- Responsible for the preparation and documentation of schedules for the Bank’s quarterly FDIC Call Report and Y-9.
- Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable.
- Serve as a backup for daily balancing & the daily financial package sent to Executives.
- Assist with account research as needed and perform analysis of financial statement accounts.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and applicable industry regulations.
- Provide general support to all areas of the Finance Department and perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Minimum of three years of work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent communication (oral and written).
- Detailed Oriented and highly organized.
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
