We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a full time Financial Controller position in the Houston area.
Job Description:
The Financial Controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Qualifications:
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
and 3 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a midsize corporation - Issues timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinates the preparation of the corporate annual reports
- Recommends benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculates and issues financial and operating metrics
- Manages the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculates variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provides for a system of management cost reports
- Provides financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- MS Word and Excel experience is required
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to travel, must have reliable transportation
- Clean background, drug screen, and driving record
