Our growing construction company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function at our Baytown headquarters. This role offers the opportunity to manage a small team and be hands-on with all aspects of financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform hands-on month-end close processes and financial reporting
- Manage banking relationships and ensure proper cash management
- Oversee and support external audits, ensuring compliance and timely responses
- Contribute to POC (Percentage of Completion) revenue recognition and job costing analysis
- Drive systems selection and implementation to streamline financial operations
- Serve as a key liaison to Private Equity partners, providing insights and reporting as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong background in construction accounting
- Bachelors in Accounting, CPA preferred
- Exposure to POC accounting and project-based financials
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Experience with ERP system implementations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with executive presence
