Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and results driven SBU Insurance Division Manager to join our dynamic team in Vineland, NJ.
The primary purpose of the SBU Insurance Division Manager is to plan, direct, and oversee the operations and fiscal health of the SBU Insurance Department in accordance with the Agency’s policies, procedures, and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management Duties:
- Perform Account Manager duties when needed.
Staff Management Duties:
- Determine staffing needs.
- Recruit, interview, hire and terminate.
- Complete assigned onboarding and off boarding tasks (including but not limited to)
- Onboarding – determine and develop training schedule.
- Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with the Department & Agency’s policies and procedures to ensure quality service is delivered to clients.
- Provide any additional oversight to foster professional & productivity growth.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet the Department’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Oversee Intern Program, when applicable.
- Approve through payroll system, employees PTO/Flex time requests.
- Evaluate team members’ performance and conduct annual reviews.
- On or around 6th month mark, provide applicable feedback on performance.
- Address and document personnel issues promptly and in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures.
Department Management Duties:
- Determine, implement, and monitor effectiveness of Department’s policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of industry changes, including but not limited to regulations, products, services, carriers.
- Ensure such information is communicated to team members.
- Initiate any necessary changes within the Department.
- Assist Sales Manager & CFO with developing initiatives to generate new business.
- Develop annual Department Goals and perform quarterly assessments.
- Maintain relationships with the Preferred Carriers.
- Develop Department written workflows.
- Prepare & Conduct Department Meetings (12 times a year).
- Audit team members’ performance to ensure adherence to Department procedures.
- Facilitate carrier consolidation and book roll initiatives.
- Liaison to Service Center carriers.
- Perform special projects at management’s request.
Miscellaneous Management Duties
- Serve on HIG’s Leadership Team.
- Complete Special Projects as requested by the President, CFO, or DOO.
- Assist in resolving issues which include the Department and other Department(s) within the Agency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years leadership experience. (REQUIRED)
- 5 years insurance experience. (REQUIRED)
- Must maintain a Producer’s Insurance License. (Property and Casualty) (REQUIRED)
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance to meet HIG standards. (REQUIRED)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Program.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and timely both verbally and in writing.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must provide prompt & accurate responses.
