The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for managing and mentoring Loan Operations team members, ensuring adherence to Bank policies and procedures as well as regulatory and compliance requirements. The Loan Operations Manager identifies and addresses staff training needs. They are a working manager and will assist team members with completion of day-to-day work as needed to ensure we are following our Core Values. Works with other departments to improve process efficiencies. You will focus on efficiency and responsiveness within a framework of established policies and regulatory guidelines. The Loan Operations Manager is primarily responsible for directing and managing overall loan service strategies and execution.
- Effectively manages and oversees loan operations team members responsible for onboarding of new loans, including modifications, change in terms, renewals, extensions, compliance-related activities involving flood insurance determination/notifications to post-closing documentation review:
- completes loan closings for new loan requests including participations, letters of credit, modifications, increases, renewals, and extensions, ensuring adherence to required loan terms/conditions and loan policy guidelines.
- ensures timely processing and validation of the escrow analysis process.
- ensures that all loans are settled appropriately and according to approved terms and ensure collateral has been perfected.
- Provides strategic guidance for department; establishes goals and objectives for staff; analyzes and recommends changes to workflow and staff assignments to ensure department goals are achieved, as well as for operational excellence.
- Manages loan input and verification procedures for loan portfolio.
- Oversees and ensures that all operating processes and procedures meet or exceed service standards, comply with all regulatory requirements, as well as integrate with other areas of the Bank for operational consistency across all markets.
- Oversees all aspects of processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance within a complex operational environment.
- Manages the team, provides comprehensive support for various loan-related tasks, and independently processes and closes loans while monitoring daily performance to ensure the satisfactory completion of operational cycles.
- Develops and implements business plans, policies, and procedures, and leads projects that introduce innovative solutions and cost-saving opportunities.
- Utilizes strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex loan-related issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions. Monitor team performance to ensure quality control in loan processing and coordinate resources for maximum efficiency.
- Assumes responsibility for special projects and gathers data for senior management reports.
- Inputs new loans into the core and sets up payment schedules according to loan documentation.
- Performs file maintenance as necessary on existing loan portfolio, including the processing of payments, corrections to account postings, and resolving customer service needs.
- Performs all rate changes needed in Laser Pro and the core system.
- Performs a secondary review of all loans (approved and denied) to ensure uniformity of decision making and inclusion on HMDA LAR, if applicable.
- Ensures all noted exception items are cleared in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains all loan operation procedures.
- Oversees monitoring and tracking of UCC filings, hazard and flood insurance, and other required items.
- Oversees the credit report dispute process using e-Oscar.
- Oversees and reconciles general ledger settlement and payable accounts. Ensures that daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations are complete and accurate and necessary research is performed on all outstanding items.
- Performs input and/or approvals of wire transfers for settlements.
- Participates in special enterprise-wide reporting, projects, and committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Leadership
- Effectively manages and measures performance of loan operations team members responsible for onboarding of new loans, including modifications, change in terms, renewals, and extensions to ensure performance standards are met.
- Manages and trains team members in all aspects of loan processing, tracking, and compliance monitoring.
- Administers Human Resources polices within the team. Completes performance appraisals and documents performance in a timely manner.
- Leads, mentors and develops the team members to achieve objectives and support the Harford Bank Core Values.
- Recommends personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, salary changes and terminations.
- Reviews management reports to determine productivity and/or problem areas and ensures that action is taken to correct/improve areas of deficiency.

- Understands and complies with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Harford Bank security procedures.

- Completes all required annual compliance training requirements.
Qualifications
- 10 years related experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years proven management experience; demonstrated decision-making.
- Proven project management experience.
- Demonstrates excellent communications skills.
- Ability to provide prompt service and timely decisions in a fast-paced environment, managing changing deadlines.
- Proven ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner to provide exceptional customer service.

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
