Assistant Public Defender in the Bail Division (APD), an attorney licensed in the State of Texas, who has graduated from an accredited law school.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- APDs provide zealous advocacy to persons accused of crimes in Harris County, Texas for the purpose of trying to secure a client's release on a personal bond or affordable cash bond.
- APDs may also challenge the probable cause justifying a client's arrest.

Education and Licensure:
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Good organization, time management, and the ability to work well with others are essential.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Regular Full-time
- APDs work in three shifts 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
- The first shift is from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- The second shift is from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- The third shift is from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- No shift is promised and assignment to a shift will depend on the needs of the division, so applicants should be prepared to work any shift.
Salary:
Depends on Qualifications
Based on 26 pay periods
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.

Salary : $93,090 - $123,050
