Job Summary:
The scales Clerk performs a variety of clerical, recordkeeping, and patron service tasks to assist with the smooth operation of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greets and directs patrons and vendors.
- Compiles daily scale and consumption reports.
- Prepares and distributes cattle and commodities reports.
- Weigh commodities and incoming/outgoing cattle.
- Answers phone calls and emails.
- Receives and distributes packages.
- Copies, faxes, filing, collates, and otherwise prepares reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to greet visitors, clients, and colleagues in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ability to type, Proficiency with 10 key a plus.
- Ability to proofread.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Basic understanding of office equipment.
- Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate.
- 1 year of clerical work experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
