Job Summary: FT Registered Nurse (RN) positions are available at our twelve (12) bed, 24/7 Children & Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit! The RN will provide nursing care services for psychiatric children and youth consumers in the Crisis Stabilization Unit; design nursing care plans and assists in the development of the overall care plan for psychiatric consumers; provide medication education and monitoring of physical problems for consumers and any other medical services as directed by a licensed Physician. The RN will ensure appropriate overall care is administered in a manner conducive to recovery.
Qualifications: Minimum Associate’s degree in nursing required; current RN license in Mississippi and previous psychiatric experience preferred. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (children and youth), limitations and planned procedures. Good oral and written communication skills are necessary. Must have valid Mississippi driver’s license and maintain proof of auto insurance. OSHA - moderate to high risk. May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases; occasional exposure to unpleasant consumer or unit elements, subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
