POSITION SUMMARY
The Epic Applications Analyst II provides advanced support, configuration, and optimization of Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications to ensure seamless clinical and business operations. The Epic Applications Analyst II serves as a key liaison between end-users and Information Technology (IT), identifying opportunities to enhance workflows, resolve issues, and ensure efficient use of Epic tools. The Epic Applications Analyst II leads system testing, develops and delivers training sessions, and works cross-functionally with departments to implement enhancements and support upgrades.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
1. Provides advanced support to end-users by successfully diagnosing, resolving, and documenting any complex technical issues in a efficient and effective manner.
2. Configures applications based on individual user, and departmental requests and requirements, ensuring system functions align with workflows for operational and clinical end-users.
3. Develops, updates, and administers training sessions and provides educational resources for end-users in support of upgrades, new Associate onboarding, and applicable workflow changes.
4. Leads system and quality assurance tests in relation to processing system upgrades, patches, and feature rollouts, mitigating end-user disruption or incidents and high-quality outcomes.
5. Partners with clinical and operational teams in reviewing current workflows, finding opportunities for any potential optimizations by using Epic capabilities.
6. Supports end-users by troubleshooting applications and collaborating with technical teams and Epic support when escalations are necessary for incident resolutions.
7. Effectively notates, and tracks end-user reported incidents in ticketing management system to ensure all issues are properly followed up on in a timely manner to provide resolutions.
8. Collaborates with teams in Epic governance processes, change control, and enhancement requests to ensure system integrity and full alignment with enterprise goals.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare or Business Administration, or relevant field.
- Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in EHR support role or Healthcare IT.
- Licensure: None
- Certification: Accreditation in required specialty prior to start date and maintained.
- Work Experience In Lieu of Education: Four (4) years of experience in EHR support role or Healthcare IT.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
o Intermediate knowledge of Epic modules and configuration tools.
o Strong ability to resolve problems effectively, and in troubleshooting issues.
o Understanding of Healthcare workflows, operationally, and clinically.
o Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
o Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks at once to meet departmental needs.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare or Business Administration, or relevant field.
- Work Experience: Four (4) years of experience in Epic EHR support role or Healthcare IT.
- Certification: Relevant Healthcare Technology Certification(s):
o Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS).
o Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS).
o Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
o Any other relevant certification(s) in Healthcare Technology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
